Jason Weismann and the Jaztronauts were the “house band” for my company’s 75th Anniversary celebration in January 2015. For a company such as ours to have not only survived but thrived in anything related to residential real estate for three quarters of a century is a truly remarkable achievement, and it was critical that we have the right tone for this (for many of us once-in-a-lifetime) party where family and friends from all corners of the count
ry came together to celebrate. Jason and his marvelous quartet did that and then some. From the beginning when he was so inquisitive about our event and what chords (pun intended) we wanted to strike with our audience, to the very open and fast communication, to his willingness to work directly with the venue’s event coordinator, to his choice of music which fit exactly what we were looking for, to his low-maintenance approach on the actual evening of the party, it was all exactly what you would want out of your musical partner for such a big and important event. That we routinely only had to communicate once on the vast majority of subjects leading up to the event, that we didn’t feel any need whatsoever to micromanage on the night of the event, that he arrived on time, set up quickly, got the thoroughly appropriate music going, entertained our large and loud group, and did it all without needing much direction…that was a nice bonus for me and my co-planner when we had plenty of other priorities throughout the evening. If you want a professional, well-prepared, fun, musically gifted group to play your event, look no further. My company doesn’t put on events of this magnitude very often, but if there is a next time, I wouldn’t even entertain another option. Our event planning To Do list would actually start out with one item already checked off….”Hire the Jaztronauts”.
