I wanted to let you know how impressed I was with you and your band. You were professional, organized and a nice guy. All of that and you have a top quality band, with seasoned players. You must have been good, as you got my mom dancing in her chair. I swear we have never witnessed her let loose like that!
There was a lot going on that afternoon and evening.

We were really ready to take things head on, and have this marriage along with all else, be a celebration of the circle of life. We were so very ready to let loose, and thankfully you lead the charge- Letting my husband play the drums was priceless! We all thought it was a magical night.

Thank you for your energy, and talent, it made the evening. Please pass this along to the rest of the crew!!

On August 5th, the Dap Squad blew in for a rare free public showcase to support their community.  Folks from around the Minneapolis area got to shake their body down to the ground while enjoying great food, drinks and of course all of the wonderful art from Minnesota artisans.  The director said the band was ‘the Best he had showcased in years’ and the crowd seemed to respond with the same feeling!!

I just wanted to take a minute again to thank you guys for the AMAZING entertainment at our wedding on Saturday. The band was by far the highlight of the night. We had so much fun dancing and we clearly observed our guests having just as much fun 🙂

We truly had the perfect day! Below is a review for the band. Please let me know if I could ever be a reference for future groups considering hiring you guys! Mike and I may just have to find another reason to throw a big party to have you again!! We will plan on seeing you at the Kramer/jay wedding in January and can’t wait to dance our butts off again!!

The Dap Squad was the perfect entertainment for our wedding! The music was fun and energetic. The group did a great job reading the crowd and playing the songs to match our upbeat energy level. The dance floor was full almost the entire night. Chazz did an awesome job getting the crowd involved. Kiersty, Jason and Chazz were excellent singers! My husband and I had a blast being invited up on stage to dance and sing with the band! We had several people comment on the band after our wedding and talking about how much fun they had dancing the night away! We would strongly recommend the Dap Squad for anyone considering live Music for their event. Jason is super easy to work with and knows his stuff!!On a scale of 1-10… We give The Dap Squad a 20!!!

“We hired Jason and the ‘Q’ to perform our ceremony music, cocktail hour entertainment, and music for dinner and dancing at our Wedding at the University Club of St. Paul in November 2015.  In a word – WOW.  He was super easy to work with, understood exactly the vibe we were going for in each portion of our day, and kept the soulful and jazzy tunes going all night long, to the delight of our guests, and myself and my new bride.  I have absolutely no reservations recommending him to anyone that needs an outstanding band – I won’t even call them a wedding band, as the talent level and ability far surpassed what people have normally come to expect.  HIRE HIM AND NEVER WORRY ABOUT YOUR MUSIC AGAIN!”

Few times in my career have I worked with a couple with such grace, class and humor.  Steve and Tessa set a wonderful standard in my mind as to what a couple should strive to be on their wedding day.   Every vendor that worked for them that day felt important, every guest felt special, every person they touched felt good to just be there.

Rarely do I make a mistake with speeches or introductions, but in being human, I made a small mistake in the pronunciation of their name and felt awful.  Before I could even make it over to them to apologize, they grabbed me and laughed letting me know that I couldn’t have found a more perfect couple to have a flub on.. they had a great sense of humor and wouldn’t give it a second thought.  More importantly, I believed them and the band gave 100 times more to the show because we felt valued.

What an amazing couple.. he looked JUST LIKE BRADLEY COOPER.. seriously, and she was so stunning she drew the air from the room.  What a wonderful night.

The event was held at the beautiful University Club and you couldn’t have found a more classy vintage feel to frame this couple.  A perfect event center for a beautiful evening

Jason Weismann and the ‘Q’ had just finished performing at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival and felt just as blessed to take part in this event.

Thank you Steve and Tessa for having Minnesota’s Music Services and the ‘Q’ set the back drop of such a perfect night!

              

The Metropolitan Airport Commission featured the Dap Squad for their Nice Celebration/Awards Show.

Honorees included employees that had shown exceptional work ethic and attitude over the last year.  The awards have extra meaning for both the awardees and their employers because to be considered, the employee has to be recognized for extraordinary service by customers themselves.

Thank you to the Minneapolis/Saint Paul Airport Commission for working together with Minnesota’s Music Services and the Dap Squad to make such a special event!

 

What do you do if you are Dave and Busters and you want to get an entire mall in a fun and exciting mood???…..

On October 9th, Dave and Busters choose Minnesota’s Music DJ services to lead their corporate promotion!

Marina blew the doors off Southdale Mall getting people out having fun and enjoying the Dave and Busters ‘Have Fun’ Promotion.

Marina added the sound track to the cool old 1980’s video games and free food.  Dave and Busters showed up with an intention to get the shoppers attention and did it an then some!

The Griffin Gallery – The WOW factor!!

So every once in a while, we play at a place that I don’t know if we’ll ever get a chance to again or not.  I am not sure if they even allow events here, but are so wonderful, that they deserve some recognition.

Bill Mack is the artist that is being featured and although I clearly can’t post pictures of his work, it is really worth you and your family stopping by and seeing.  Too often we assume geniuses live in far off cities, but when you realize that we have artists that are getting international attention (that isn’t just lip service either) and doing work that will make you pause and just appreciate amazing talent, it’s worth the extra time to take someone you love over to check it out.

With that said, the Gallery is amazingly beautiful with fountains, wonderful landscaping and interesting little sides.  At one point you walk through a secret door that is behind a painting… that itself is worth the drive over there.

Unfortunately, you probably will miss the original ‘H’ from the Hollywood sign.  It’s only being shown until the end of the month.  This H was rescued from the base of the hillside that overlooks LA.  Some of it had to be repaired using other pieces of the other letters, but it’s just cool to see.

Within the Gallery, there is an entire section, where bill used parts of the old letters as canvas for his painting.  You just will never see anything like this again.

Southdale Mall featured Marina one of Minnesota’s Music’s DJ superstars to promote Buffalo Wild Wings from 3-7pm today.

Buffalo Wild Wings http://www.buffalowildwings.com might tell you that the fun music and great food sampling put all the smiles on folks faces.. but we all know that Marina’s magnetic personality and ability to get everyone to have fun were the real reasons for all the happy faces.

The folks from Buffalo Wild Wings were amazing and thank God we were close enough to Caribou Coffee to stay Caffeinated!!

For the couple that has decided they want an old fashioned country wedding without giving up all the beauty and class of a classic wedding, the Historic Hope Glen Farms is a great choice.

This newer venue is located in Cottage Grove Minnesota.  http://hopeglenfarm.com The designers have clearly worked hard to preserve all the natural charm and feel of a country setting without the common challenges that this type of wedding can present.

The Dance Hall is contained in an old fashioned barn dance setting.  Beautiful old wood hints of the wild west with a clear intent of a good old fashioned barn dance feel.

 

 

 

 

The Bridal sweet, although un-viewable by me at the time, was also at the top of another barn style building.  I was told by  many that with vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light it was breathtakingly beautiful.

Again this is the front of the Dance hall Barn building.

 

Located across from the bridal sweet is an open ended mess hall complete with a stone fireplace and shabby chic hanging lights.  Everything was very thoughtfully designed to capture that authentic country feel.

 

Although this picture didn’t do the ceremony justice, it was held in an open field, with a cute wooden bridge leading up to the ceremony area.

No country wedding is complete without a backyard barbecue, and this event center brought in fantastic chefs to accent the country feel without letting the food choices suffer. Best ‘vittles’ from here to the Mason Dixon line.

A cute accent was a small cocktail bar ordained with a ‘Lemonade stand’ look.
